A terminal you can work in, and a place to look after what you have shared.

Two shells side by side. A terminal tab was one shell, so a build and a prompt meant switching tabs and losing sight of whichever was running. A tab now holds as many shells as you split it into, each told its own width so it wraps where it is drawn. Ctrl+Shift+5, or Split Terminal under Terminal.

A fix for a command that failed. Ctrl+. in the panel, the same key the editor uses one layer up. It reads what the command printed and looks for the shapes programs use when they are telling you what to run instead — an indented command, a "did you mean", an address worth opening — and puts the answer at the prompt for you to press Enter on. It knows nothing about git or npm in particular, and it never runs anything itself.

Commands the shell can point at. The panel learns where each command began and how it went, so a screen of output says at a glance which command produced it and which of them failed. Ctrl+Alt+R offers the ones you have already run. Needs PowerShell for now; a shell that cannot report this behaves exactly as before.

The terminal is a place to read. The scrollback searches with Ctrl+F. A compiler's src/main.rs:12:5 opens that file at that line. A program that asks for the mouse gets it, and one that does not gets a selection you can copy. A setting says which shell opens.

Snippets have a page. What you have shared is now under Settings ▸ Snippets, with the first line of each so you can tell two main.rs apart. Every one can be named, opened in a browser, or deleted — deleting a share was not possible at all before.

Connecting to a host. A server that asks for a password is now asked for one instead of failing silently. Windows hosts work. A changed host key is reported rather than swallowed.

Faster where it counts. Folding no longer rebuilds a map the length of the file on every keystroke, and asking whether a row folds no longer scans to the end of its block. The View menu was thirty-one items and is now eleven, with the git commands under a Git menu of their own.

Avatar initials sit in the middle of their disc.
